Christopher Marlowe – The Tragical History of Dr. Faustus
BBC Radio | 2007 | Duration: 1:37:45
The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus is a play by Christopher Marlowe, based on the Faust story (Faustus is Latin for Faust), in which a man sells his soul to the devil for power and knowledge. On a deeper level, this play shows the decay of a person who chooses material gains (by commanding the devils to suit his desires) over spiritual belief and in doing so, loses his soul. Doctor Faustus was first published in 1604, eleven years after Marlowe’s death and at least twelve years after the first performance of the play.

Protected by the world’s highest mountain ranges, Tibetan medicine has preserved an unbroken tradition since its introduction from India in the seventh century. The Venerable Rechung Rinpoche has here provided translations of the most important Tibetan medical texts, including indexes of plants, other medical texts and persons, and a. brief history of Tibetan medicine, supplemented by a bibliography of western works on the subject. A major part of the volume is occupied by the biography of the Great Physician-Saint g Yu-thog the Elder (CE 786-911), who spread medical science throughout Tibet. Poetic and imaginative features characteristic of Tibetan literature compose this narrative. The volume also includes translations from the Second and Fourth Books of the rGyud-bzhi, a work that is thought to have been derived from Sanskrit sources, but survives only in Tibetan and Mongolian, the Mongolian version being clearly a translation from the Tibetan one. Illustrations, including a series of intricate Tibetan anatomy diagrams, lend further appeal to the volume.

The text of A Book of Troth was the first founding document of the organization called the Ring of Troth. The book consists of three parts: The first concerns certain philosophical and religious ideas and precepts. The second is a complete liturgy of ceremonies for the entire Ásatrú calendar. These ceremonies are based on those used for many years by the Austin Kindred of the AFA, and which are now the basic true rites of the hidden Woodharrow Kindred. The third part of the book deals with affiliation with various Ásatrú organizations and the curriculum of qualification for eldership in the religion. This new version of the book contains many sections and passages that were edited out by the original commercial publishers due to the supposedly “controversial” nature of these passages. It also contains many entirely new sections which did not appear in the original edition. A Book of Troth is a strong statement of the truth which is the traditional faith of the Germanic peoples as expressed in a contemporary cultural setting. The philosophical parts were written in chapters penned in one sitting each during the first two months of 1988. The book was commercially published in 1989, but has been out of print for the last five years. Limited edition almost run out, over-runs (not numbered) still available

This book is a translation into English Prose of all the complete Valmiki Ramayana by Shri Manmatha Nath Dutt.
The Ramayana is certainly one of the world’s oldest legends. Modern scholars claim that it was first composed around 300 BC. The devout Hindu believes that Rama lived many hundred millennia ago, in the treta yuga, and that was also when Valmiki first told his immortal story. The epic is called the Adi Kavya, the world’s first poem. The God Brahma himself is meant to have inspired Valmiki to create his classic, in twenty-four thousand slokas. The true purpose of the Ramayana is to awaken its reader spiritually, and to send him forth on the great journey that leads to Moksha, to God.

After KveldúlfR Gundarsson`s well-known introductory books Teutonic
Magic and Teutonic Religion, and the massive compendium Our Troth
(which he wrote a considerable portion of as well as editing), it is
an inspiration and delight to finally have the chance to look more
deeply into one of our foremost Heathen scholar`s fundamental work in
the lore and philosophy of Germanic Heathenry. Wotan: The Road to
Valhalla demonstrates that Gundarsson fully deserves his reputation
as a great teacher and godhi. It is the first serious work of Heathen
theology that I have read, containing a vast amount of lore
investigated with both the critical eye of a professional researcher
holding a doctorate in the subject of Germanic religion and the
deeper understanding of a priest and theologian seeking to understand
and explain our faith`s teaching in regards to the afterlife and the
most complex and difficult figure of our religion.
